After escaping, all three moved to the US and regrouped, beginning an incredible string of more than 50 bank robberies. Their MO gave the group their unique name - one member carried a stopwatch and would time their hold-ups based on the interesting supposition that if they weren't out of a bank in 90 seconds their chances of getting apprehended were mathematically higher. The "Stopwatch" story is a fascinating part of Canadian criminal history.
