Mayday: Air Disaster

The windshield of British Airways Flight 111 pops off, and the captain's body is stuck to the side of the plane. The co-pilot successfully lands the plane and the captain survives.

Shortly after take-off, one of the propeller blades on Flight ASA 529 was just a stub and the engine was glued to the left wing. The flight crew was forced to make a crash landing.

An Air France Airbus was hijacked by four Algerian terrorists just before take off. They demanded the release from prison of Muslim leaders held by the Algerian authorities.

A lone air traffic controller failed to notice that two planes were on a collision course. The planes crashed into each other, killing all 71 people, most of them children.

After a storm disrupts air traffic on the East Coast, Avianca Airlines Flight 52 ran out of fuel. The plane crashed in a suburb killing 73 people, including the flight crew.
